This allows the engine management system to have a self diagnosis capacity in order to monitor vehicle status. The engine management system monitors, amongst other things; the Fuel System, the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system, the Purge System, the catalyst, misfire, and Oxygen Sensor. A properly operating Oxygen Sensor has become one the most important components for the engine management system, in terms of emissions compliance.
