Bosch has a strong corporate commitment to the community through partnerships with many charitable organisations, assisting financially and socially with initiatives that give back to the community.
On a global scale, Bosch has lead the way for nearly 40 years with over $900 million donated to charities world wide. Since 2005, Bosch Hot Water in South Australia has donated over $300,000 to the McGuinness McDermott Foundation, supporting children with cancer and other associated illnesses. Additionally, Bosch has donated over 90 hot water systems to local charities with over $50,000 donated towards installation costs. Bosch Hot Water have also supported the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Victoria, by raising funds to help people who are affected by Cancer.
When the devasting bushfires hit Victoria in 2009, the Bosch Thermotechnology division provided much needed assistance in the relief effort by donating 15 of their external Hydropower hot water units. The beauty of the Hydropower unit is that it does not require power to operate as the unit uses the energy created by water flow to ignite the burner and begin the heating process. This type of unit was of great use in the fire ravaged areas as there was generally no power available to operate appliances of this nature. These units were used in temporary accommodation refuges which were inhabited by individuals who had lost their homes by the recent devastating fires. The Kinglake Community Centre also received one Bosch Hydropower unit as their centre was damaged in the fires. Bosch Thermotechnology were eager to assist in this heartfelt cause and trust that the donation of hot water units provided much-needed hope and comfort to all involved.
Furthermore in August 2009, Bosch Hot Water partnered with the Royal Institute for the Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) in New South Wales whereby a portion of every Bosch hot water unit sold through a Tradelink retail store went toward raising crucial funds for this worthy charity. This initiative saw a total of $26, 580 raised to provide education and support to deaf children and blind children and their families.
