1. What type of shower head does Bosch recommend that I use with my Bosch hot water system?
Bosch recommends that shower heads must be a minimum of 9 litres per minute and other fixtures 7.5 litres per minute.
2. Can I use a water saving shower head with my Bosch hot water system?
As per above- yes, as long as it is 9 litres per minute.
3. Are Bosch hot water systems compatible with all taps and shower heads?
They are compatible with most taps but some flick mixer taps have a flow rate that is below the minimum required for operation.

6. Why is the installation position so important?
The positioning of the water heater is very important as it may affect water flow and lag times. Safety regulations are another aspect that has to be taken into consideration when installing the appliance.
7. Can I install a temperature controller with my Bosch Hydro Power unit?
No, controllers can only be installed with the Bosch Highflow range, the Bosch 32 or the new 26eco+ unit. All of these units have electronic control capability which allows them to be connected with a temperature controller. You can install a maximum of four temperature controllers - 1 main, 1 bathroom and 2 sub-controllers. Premium and Standard main and bathroom controllers cannot be mixed. Bosch 32 models (KM3211WHNG/LP) can be used with up to 3 temperature controllers. Bosch 32Q models (KM3211WHQNG/LP) include 1 main controller as standard.
8. Can I use my Bosch Hydro Power or Bosch Pilot model with a solar system?
No, both of these units are a “mechanical” unit, which means they do not have the ability to read incoming temperature and regulate themselves. This can lead to overheating of water which is a health and safety concern.
9. Can I use my Bosch Electronic Highflow model (17e, 21e & 26e) with a solar setup?
Yes, in order to do this you will require a Bosch solar transfer valve which can be purchased at your local plumbing and trade store.
10. How long is the warranty period on my Bosh hot water system?
This varies depending on which type of system you have and whether it is being used for Domestic or Commercial use. Please refer to your user manual for warranty details. You can download a copy of your user manual by following the steps in FAQ 4.
11. How often should the gas appliance be serviced?
All domenstic gas appliances should be serviced at intervals not exceeding two years. Commercial gas hot water applications should be serviced at intervals never exceeding one year.

13. Can a Bosch HydroPower system be pre-set to 50°C?
No, the Bosch Hydro Power system and the Bosch Pilot system are a mechanical unit and therefore do not have the capability to electronically be tempered down to 50°C. In Australia it is Mandatory as per Australian Standards that a tempering valve be installed in bathrooms and other hygiene areas so that the temperature does not exceed 50°C. We recommend you speak with your plumber to find the best solution.
14. Can a Bosch Electronic Highflow system (17e, 21e & 26e) be pre-set to 50°C?
Yes. When you purchase your hot water system you must specify that you would like to order a “Pre-set 50°C locked” unit.
15. Do the Bosch Hydro Power systems come with gas regulators?
Yes, the external models come pre-fitted with both Natural Gas and LPG regulators and the internal units have the Natural Gas and LPG units supplied in the box.
16. What size LPG Gas Cylinder should be used with Bosch hot water systems?
HydroPower and Pilot range models with a flow rate of 10 and 13 litres should be connected to at least one 45kg LPG cylinder. HydroPower and Pilot range models with a flow rate of 16 litres as well as Highflow and 32 Series hot water systems should be connected with two 45kg cylinders with auto changeover regulator.
17. Which tempering valve is compatible with which Bosch hot water system?
All continuous flow units most be connected with a high performance tempering valve (green cap).
18. Is the setting of the gas pressure done by the manufacturer?
No. Even though all Bosch units are tested in the factory; Gas inlet pressures and burner pressures (for the mechanical units) need to be set and checked at every service to ensure correct operation.
19. Where can I look at or purchase a Bosch Hot Water system?
Bosch has many distributors across Australia and New Zealand. Most plumbing / trade stores will be able to sell you a Bosch Hot Water System. In Australia some of our larger retailers are Reece, Tradelink, Galvin’s, Elgas & AGL. In New Zealand our large retailers are Mico, Master Trade, Mitre 10, Plumbing World and Place Makers.
