Round 1 of this year’s International V8 Supercar Championship
was an unfortunate one for Supercheap Auto Racing as both races one and two
were hampered by racing incidents. This meant that Russell Ingall finished with
a 24th place and DNF in race two, resulting in 26th overall for the
weekend.
A lap one incident in race one forced Russell to an extra,
unscheduled pit stop then he could only manage 24th by race end.
During race two Craig Lowndes locked his brakes and slid
into the hard charging Ingall on lap 19, ending the #39 Supercheap Auto
Racing Commodore’s day. While the results didn’t come in Abu Dhabi the speed certainly did.
The Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi made for some electrifying
images from both TV cameras and photographers alike.
